International Year One Accommodation

Combining the best of both worlds, International Year One students will spend two terms studying at Oxford International NYC in Manhattan and their third term studying at Syracuse University.

Manhattan, New York City

  • International Year One – Term 1 & 2

The first two terms of the International Year One program, students will study at Oxford International NYC English School. Located in the heart of New York, with famous landmarks and household names nearby. The Rockefeller Center, Broadway, Central Park and Times Square are within walking distance. Accommodation options for students include YMCA guest rooms, dorms and homestays.

  • International Year One – Term 3

International Year One students completing their third term will study on-campus at Syracuse university, with on-campus housing in Shaw Hall.

  • Progressing to Syracuse University

Living on campus at Syracuse University provides students with the environment to build stronger connections with faculty and staff, deepen relationships with fellow students and learn what it means to be part of a campus community.

Upon completing their International Year One, second-year Syracuse University students can secure on-campus housing through the university at one of the many residence halls available.

Sport and Recreation 
Syracuse University has state-of-the-art facilities with over 60+ group fitness classes and two climbing walls in the Barnes Center at the Arch. The Skytop Recreation Area on South Campus features 20 tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball, and an ice skating rink. Additionally, the Barnes Center at The Arch provides access to a recreation/lap pool, the Prettyman Spa Pool and various other aquatic activities.

Club Sports 
Syracuse University provides a variety of options with over 40 active club sports, encompassing both team and individual activities. Some of these sports include boxing, fencing, golf, soccer, and much more. With over 1,400 student-athletes participating each year, club teams can practice, compete, and hold team activities throughout the year. Pre-Sessional English

For students who do not meet the International Year One Program language requirements, the Pre-Sessional English program, delivered by Oxford International NYC, is designed to enhance your comprehension and usage of the English language and academic skills required for university-level studies. After successfully completing the assigned pre-sessional term(s), students will progress to the International Year One Pathway Program without further English testing.

Progression Scholarships at Syracuse

Progressing students into Syracuse University receive the following merit awards for each
subsequent year of enrollment based on the cumulative GPA earned upon the completion of the 30 credit hours:
• A GPA between 3.25 and 3.49 is $10,000 per year
• A GPA between 3.5 and 3.74 is $15,000 per year
• A GPA greater than 3.75 is $20,000 per year
