Degree Overview

This degree will not only equip students with practical skills, but also a deep understanding of the underpinning theory. Graduates from this course join industries in software development, database administration, network administration or similar positions. After graduation students should be able to obtain a good job in the computing industry in the UK or indeed with any of the international computing firms; or take up study for a higher degree such as a Masters Degree or PhD, both also offered at Bangor.

During this course, students will learn the fundamentals of computer science and advanced programming skills, and benefit from teaching that relates to the research interest of the academic staff. Specialities available during the course include computer graphics, artificial intelligence and agents, and data communications.

The International Year Zero is the first year of the four year undergraduate course. IYZ is designed to help you gain extra skills in your subject area, as well as English Language, before you continue to year one of your chosen University undergraduate degree course.

Following successful completion of the IYZ, you will continue onto Year One of your degree directly with the University of your choice.
