This cybernetics specialised degree covers the fundamentals of engineering but will also give you specialist knowledge in areas such as sensors and networks, artificial intelligence for engineering systems, control and instrumentation, and user-centred design.
You’ll graduate with the capabilities to become a pioneer and innovator in the field of cybernetics. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills for careers in technology, engineering and computing, particularly in the field of emerging technologies. Alternatively, you could follow the career path of some of our previous students and set up your own company.
Course texts and other study resources are available from the Drill Hall Library. You may wish to purchase your own copies. You also receive an allowance for printing costs, which you can top up if required.

The International Year Zero is the first year of the four year undergraduate course. IYZ is designed to help you gain extra skills in your subject area, as well as English Language, before you continue to year one of your chosen University undergraduate degree course.
Following successful completion of the IYZ, you will continue onto Year One of your degree directly with the University of your choice.
