The B.S.S.W. prepares undergraduates for generalist-level practice across the scope of the professional social work field. Career opportunities for social workers have continued to increase and lead graduates with a Social Work B.S. (B.S.S.W.) degree into generalist-level work in a wide range of professional settings, including schools, healthcare systems, child welfare, substance abuse treatment, services for older adults, supportive housing, and federal, state, and local government services.

The International Year One is the perfect pathway if you want a undergraduate degree from a UK, EU or US University but do not meet the requirements for direct entry.

The IY1 course provides an intensive combination of first year University subject modules with English language skills.

Following successful completion of the IY1 you will continue onto your second year degree study directly with the University of your choice.

Scholarships

Progressing students into Syracuse University receive the following merit awards for each
subsequent year of enrollment based on the cumulative GPA earned upon the completion of the 30 credit hours:
• A GPA between 3.25 and 3.49 is $10,000 per year
• A GPA between 3.5 and 3.74 is $15,000 per year
• A GPA greater than 3.75 is $20,000 per year
