September 2024 marks a significant milestone for all of us at Oxford International: we are celebrating a decade in higher education! From our humble beginnings, we’ve experienced incredible growth and success, expanding our reach and impact around the world for students and institutions alike. While this marks 10 years in higher education pathways and recruitment, it’s built on our solid foundation of over 33 years of delivering quality education through our English Language and Junior Programmes.

A Bold Move, A Bright Future

Back in 2014, we took a bold step by launching our University Partnerships Pathway programmes. What began as a soft launch with De Montfort University has since grown into a wide network of partnerships across the UK, the US and Australia, opening direct pathway to universities for students worldwide.

“Oxford International’s ten-year journey in Higher Education has been exceptional. We’ve had the privilege of working with gold-standard universities in the UK, USA, and Australia, and over the past decade, we’ve taught over 17,000 international students from more than 100 countries. Our commitment to delivering diversity, quality, and outstanding student outcomes has grown stronger, and this is just the beginning for us as a global education platform,”shares our CEO, Lil Bremmermann-Richard.

What’s more, J.P. Morgan Private Bank has recognised Oxford International Education Group as one of the UK’s top 10 women-powered companies.

With one of the most diverse leadership teams in our sector—balancing gender, age, cultural background, and expertise—this recognition is a testament to the strength of our diversity.”

Growing Through Change

Ten years is a significant time, and Oxford International hasn’t just grown in size—we’ve matured as an organisation. We’ve faced macro-economic challenges and policy shifts, adapting through the decade and emerging stronger as a result.

Philip Moere,  College Director at De Montfort University International College (DMUIC), Philip Moere, fondly remembers our journey together:

“De Montfort University International College first opened its doors in June 2014, with an initial intake of 6 students, in the past academic year the student body numbered well over 1000 students.

“Whilst the college has changed beyond recognition to cater for greater student numbers, and in the process its working relationship with DMU has broadened and deepened to create a strong and lasting partnership,  its philosophy remains the same, to prepare and equip international students with the academic tools and knowledge, to successfully progress to De Montfort University degrees, whilst supporting their transition to living and studying in the UK, often for the first time.  Both the college and university  look forward to welcoming many more students in the next ten years and celebrating their successes.”

Laura Guga-Voyce, COO of Oxford International Education Group, has seen first-hand how international education opens doors for people, having been an international student herself.

“Having come to the UK as an international student myself, I know the transformative impact international education can have. Over the last decade, Oxford International has grown tremendously, welcoming students from over 100 nationalities and partnering with 7 universities. We’ve become a sophisticated organisation that prioritises quality while withstanding inevitable challenges. I’m excited to see what the next 10 years will bring!”

We’ve supported 10,000s of students across the globe, helping them on their way to secure brighter futures starting with their international higher education.

Alabhya Kumar Tiwari was one of these. He embarked on an MBA with the University of Roehampton, graduating in September 2023.

“Studying at the University of Roehampton was a transformative experience for me. The MBA program not only provided me with a solid foundation in business principles, but also equipped me with the leadership and management skills crucial for my role in Medical Education Administration at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust.

“The faculty’s support and the diverse learning environment helped me grow both personally and professionally,” shares Alabhya Kumar Tiwari (class of 2023).

Fostering a global community through international education

From our first intake at De Montfort University to now partnering with universities across three continents, it’s clear that Oxford International is more than just an education provider. We are dedicated to transforming the lives of international students through our strong community.

Our student-centred and student-first approach have been pivotal in our success:.

“Our roots in English Language teaching have allowed us to remain agile and innovative in supporting international students. The passion and pride of our academic, support, marketing, recruitment, and tech teams means that our evolution in higher education will only continue. This is only the beginning!”, adds our CEO, Lil Bremermann-Richard.

Looking to the future

As we celebrate this milestone, it’s clear that Oxford International’s journey is just beginning. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the past 10 years, but we’re even more excited about what lies ahead. From expanding our university partnerships to innovating in student support and education delivery, the future is bright for Oxford International.

Khayrul Alam, International Recruitment Director at BPP University, notes, “An amazing journey of collaborative spirit and dedication to build the India success story. OI has gone above and beyond, and the relationship has grown from strength to strength. Many congratulations on completing 10 years in the education space. To many more years ahead!”

To all our partners, students, and dedicated teams: thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Here’s to many more years of growth, success, and transformation!
