The IFP will give you a route onto one of our undergraduate degree, in one of the following subject areas:

The IFP programme is designed to close the gap between your existing qualifications and those required to study an undergraduate degree, whilst developing your English language skills to a level where you can flourish in the UK university system.

The tailored, inclusive international curriculum is taught through a series of modules via lectures, seminars, workshops by our passionate and committed academic staff. You’ll gain the confidence and academic experience you need to prepare you for studying your undergraduate degree.

You’ll study a pathway that best supports your chosen undergraduate degree, where you’ll gain subject-specific knowledge, improve your academic study as well as your English language skills.

As well as modules unique to your specific pathway, you will also study several modules that are common to all pathways.

Biomedical Science

You’ll be introduced to key concepts in human physiology and explore the basic aspect of research in Biological Sciences through methods of strategic thinking, techniques and experimental design in an enquiry-based way.

Business

You’ll be introduced to core aspects of business and corporate life, gaining an understanding of business terminology, concepts and ideas.

Computing

You’ll be introduced to the key skills and areas of digital literacy and how to solve problems via program development.

Education

You’ll get to know education terminology, concepts, ideas and gain the transferable and lifelong learning skills, to support you in continuing your professional development and educational achievement.

Health and Life Sciences

You’ll be introduced to key concepts in human physiology and explore the basic aspect of research in Biological Sciences through methods of strategic thinking, techniques and experimental design in an enquiry-based way.

Health and Social Care

You will be introduced to the professional responsibilities of those working within health and social care and look at the relevant professional frameworks, codes of practice, ethical concepts and legislation and explore the concepts of equality and diversity, and inclusion.

Humanities and Social Sciences

You’ll gain a broad and critical understanding of the relationship between crime and its social and legal context.

Law

You’ll gain a broad and critical understanding of the relationship between crime and its social and legal content. You’ll be introduced to public and private laws and develop competency in legal skills.

Media

You will be introduced to key theoretical concepts of new ‘distributed media’ by looking at the role non-professional individuals now play in forming new media practices via social media.

Psychology

You’ll be introduced to many aspects of applied psychology alongside key theories and models. You’ll also explore psychological methods of scientific thinking and reasoning.

Sustainable Engineering and Technology

You will explore a number of broad themes, in terms of the context of the built environment.
