The International Stage One (IS1) represents the first year of a four-year undergraduate degree which caters specifically for the needs of international students. It provides an opportunity for you to take part in a bespoke programme which maps against the standard first year offered at Edinburgh Napier University (ENU). You will be able to study in the supportive environment of an international college situated on an ENU campus and follow a Learning, Teaching and Assessment Approach designed to meet their learning needs while still being immersed in a university environment, accessing University facilities and resources and following university undergraduate regulations. Successful completion of the IS1 enables you to join the second year of your undergraduate studies at Edinburgh Napier University.
During your studies on IS1 you will enhance your English language capabilities, develop academic study skills appropriate to the UK Higher Education environment and acclimate to living and studying in another country and cultural context very different from their own. Alongside language and study skills tuition, students working on the International Stage One are also able to study content modules within a chosen field of study and which are closely related to modules delivered in ENU’s standard year one. You are therefore able to join their second year studies at Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Level 8 alongside continuing students with increased confidence in both your language and study skills and subject knowledge.
Students can choose from Business or Computing pathways.
